I found CrossFit in 2011 and had literally had a life changing experience. I was completely addicted and wanted to eat, breathe and sleep CrossFit. I decided to take the Level 1 cert class to become a coach. I wanted to learn as much as I can about Sport of Fitness. CrossFit, for me has become more than an exercise program, it has become a way of life. It has made me mentally and physically stronger in my everyday life. What I love the most about CrossFit is how it is so goal driven and that feeling of accomplishment is indescribable. Growing up, I was a soccer player and a competitive figure skater. One could say that I was an athlete throughout my life, however I never saw myself as one. Inever felt fit, or in shape and I certainly never loved my body. As a Cross-fitter, I am an athlete!
For many years, I struggled with my body image and weight issues. I was that girl in the gym running miles and miles on the treadmill just to burn off my day’s calorie intake. I would spend hours at the gym, money on personal trainers, doing what I thought would make me my skinniest, including eating like a bird (saltines and spinach to be exact. What was I thinking!) I saw no major changes! CrossFit has changed my mentality and the way I view body image. I may not be 100lbs anymore but that’s ok because I am fit, strong and healthy. I have two children that I am setting an example for. They will be my future cross fitters! Crossfit brings out my competitive streak! I love competing and pushing myself to the limit!
